Mahlia has experience working with both children and adults from a range of cultural backgrounds. She has worked across a number of settings including, hospital, outpatient, and community mental health services. Mahlia also has experience conducting group therapy and working with clients via Telehealth. Mahlia has worked with a range of presentations including, but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, stress, relationship and interpersonal issues, emotional dysregulation, adjustment issues, attachment difficulties and sleep disturbance. She has also worked with individuals who experience chronic medical and/or physical health conditions
Mahlia uses evidence-based psychological interventions to assist clients in achieving long-term outcomes. Mahlia is well trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and also draws on principles from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Metacognitive Therapy (MCT).
