Tahlia is a registered psychologist who is passionate about empowering individuals to learn and grow at every stage of life, whilst acknowledging we all sometimes need guidance finding our way or generating change.

Approach

Tahlia’s approach to therapy can be described as warm and gentle, with a focus on building a genuinely supportive, non-judgemental, and collaborative therapeutic relationship with clients. Tahlia is client-centered in her approach, focusing on tailoring support to each person’s unique needs, goals, and strengths. She also works through a trauma-informed and neurodiverse-affirming lens.

Experience and Interests

Tahlia has experience working predominantly with adults in private practice, presenting with a range of difficulties including eating disorders, body image distress, mood disorders including anxiety and depression, perfectionism, difficulties managing emotions, stress and burnout, and difficulties with self-criticism and self-esteem. Tahlia has a special interest in eating disorders and disordered eating, distress related to body image and weight (including experiences of weight stigma), and helping people develop positive and accepting relationships with food and eating, and our bodies. She comes from a non-diet and weight inclusive approach and is trained in a variety of evidence-based eating disorder treatments. Tahlia also has a special interest in working with individuals who are undergoing or have undergone bariatric surgery.

Tahlia is passionate about providing evidence-based treatment for individuals and can draw on approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Binge-Eating Disorder (CBT for BED), Family Based Therapy (FBT), and Satter Division of Responsibility in Feeding (sDOR).
