Pronouns: She/Her
Amy is a warm, attuned, and engaging psychologist. She adopts a non-judgemental and empathic approach to therapy, seeking to create an environment where clients feel safe, understood, and supported to explore their inner world at a pace that feels right for them.
Approach
Amy’s approach to therapy is person-centred and trauma-informed. She focuses on providing a welcoming therapeutic space where people can show up exactly as they are. Amy understands her clients’ difficulties as patterns of protection and survival, helping them cultivate self-compassion for both past and present suffering. She believes that understanding the nervous system is key to understanding ourselves, and she supports clients to develop awareness of their emotional and autonomic states, triggers, and the deeper patterns shaping their experiences.
This awareness forms the foundation for insight, self-understanding, and meaningful growth. Treating the whole person, Amy tailors her support to each client’s unique needs, values, and goals. She balances gentle exploration with practical tools, helping clients navigate challenges while strengthening self-regulation, emotional clarity, and authentic expression.
Experience and Interests
Amy has experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults across private practice, clinical, and school settings. She has supported clients with a wide range of presentations, including anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, personality disorders, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, stress, low self-esteem, life transitions, and individuals seeking deeper self-understanding. She has a particular interest in childhood trauma and emotional dysregulation and is especially passionate about supporting young adults as they navigate this formative and often tender period of life.
Before becoming a psychologist, Amy worked as a creative in advertising, an experience that gave her insight into the pressures of high-demand environments, the realities of burnout, and the process of reassessing one’s values and direction. Her years of yoga and meditation practice, along with her training as a teacher in both, have deepened her appreciation for the mind–body connection and continue to shape her understanding of holistic wellbeing. Amy is currently completing her Clinical Registrar Program to obtain clinical endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Therapies
Amy utilises a person-centred and individualised approach, tailoring therapy to each client’s needs. She draws upon a range of evidence-based psychological approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based approaches. Her work is further informed by trauma-focused frameworks such as Polyvagal Theory and Attachment Theory.
