Carina is a compassionate and nurturing psychologist. Using a client-centered approach, Carina aims to tailor her practice to what best fits each individual.

Approach

Carina is passionate about normalising help-seeking. She understands how stressful deciding to seek help can be and endeavors to make the experience as smooth as possible for the client. Her priority is to build a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients where she uses evidence-based treatment methods to assist clients in developing and maintaining meaningful therapy goals. Drawing on a strength-based approach, Carina hopes to empower her clients and make significant changes with them to improve their well-being.

Experience and Interests

Carina has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who are facing a wide variety of difficulties across public and private mental health settings including family and child psychology practices, schools, youth mental health services, family violence services, and private practice. Carina works with a range of presenting issues such as, but not limited to, depression, anxiety and panic disorders, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorder, trauma, grief and loss, family violence, substance use issues, anger management, gender and/or sexuality concerns, relationship problems, attachment issues, stress and adjustment problems.

Carina is open to working with clients of all ages. However, as an advocate for the benefits of early intervention, she has a particular interest in working with adolescents and young adults.

Therapies

Carina draws upon a wide range of evidence-based frameworks to provide the best treatment for her clients. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) and Mindfulness-based Therapies, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Carina is always seeking professional development opportunities in order to solidify and supplement her repertoire of frameworks.

Carina Personally

Carina values spending time with family and friends. She loves going to the beach (when Melbourne weather permits) and exploring all things food, music, and movie-related.
