Approach

Alex’s approach is grounded in the therapeutic relationship and centres around the unique needs of each client. He believes therapy is most effective when it is both creative and responsive, allowing for a personalised experience that honours each person’s story, values, and goals.

Experience and Interests

Alex has experience working across the lifespan within school, aged care, private mental health, and forensic settings, as well as supporting families within children’s hospice services. He has worked with a broad range of presentations including anxiety, ADHD, ASD, trauma, and social difficulties. Alex particularly enjoys collaborating with clients to explore themes of identity, life narrative, and personal meaning, and will often incorporate values-based approaches into his work. He believes that personal narrative plays a central role in our mental wellbeing and that one of the most important steps towards feeling better is understanding the stories that we tell ourselves every day.

Therapies

Alex utilises several evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He values flexibility in therapy and works collaboratively with clients to tailor approaches that best suit their individual needs.
