Craig Macpherson

Psychologist
Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Bachelor of Science, Master of Psychology (Organisational)

Pronouns: He/Him

Craig is a warm and open-minded therapist who customises his eclectic approach using a range of therapies to address diverse client needs. With a focus on career and workplace issues, he aims to create a supportive space for growth.

Approach

The one common feature Craig brings across all sessions, with all clients, is warmth and humour. He believes that the connection he has with the client is the most important factor in the client’s journey of learning and growth. Beyond this, he will tailor sessions to suit the client’s needs and preferences.

Experiences and Interests

Craig has experience working with most clinical and non-clinical presentations including clients of diverse sexualities and gender identities, and life stages. Because of his background in organisational and occupational psychology, he has a strong interest in work and workplace concerns, including career guidance, burnout, bullying, concentration and adjusting to new roles.

Therapies

Craig adopts an eclectic therapeutic approach in which he draws from a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness. Rather than sticking rigidly to a modality, Craig will pick and choose techniques from each modality to suit the client’s needs. If you have a preference (or aversion) to a particular type of therapy, simply let Craig know.

How Is Craig Described By His Clients?

Craig is described as warm and supportive by clients. He hopes clients find the therapy process rewarding and an opportunity for learning something about yourself you didn’t know before.

Craig Personally

Craig really loves his work. However, when he does manage to find downtime, he enjoys travelling (particularly through Africa and the Pacific), scuba diving, and spending time with his wife.
